Oroya

My undergraduate thesis, Oroya, explores the complex 20th century history of La Oroya, a smelting town in the Central Andes of Peru. Rather than focus solely on the contemporary moment, I chose to expand on the wide-reaching role of the town in a greater Peruvian context and its tenuous relationship with U.S.-led industrialization.
